Full Stack Developer

I'm an outdoor loving, adventure seeking full stack developer based in Denver with a background in education/training, tourism, customer service, management, and linguistics.

I have lived and worked in 7 countries across the globe in a wide variety of industries and from this have developed excellent communication skills while working with diverse teams. Aside from English, I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

For 9 years I worked as a scuba diving instructor and cave diving guide where planning, teamwork, and attention to detail were critical for safety.

As a former teacher I am passionate about education and love learning new things. I am always learning new programming languages and frameworks. I also recently started rock climbing!

As you can see by the cutie in the photo (not me), I am an animal lover as well.

Guided over 10,000 divers in extreme environments with no diver injuries. Reduced risk by following safety procedures, giving thorough safety briefings, supervision, and quick response.
Serviced and repaired vital life support equipment and implemented a regularly scheduled checklist to assure emergency equipment was complete and functioning.

Redesigned an unresponsive table based website with static html into a fully responsive and dynamic site with a focus on ease of content creation and SEO.
Achieved top rank in Google search results for several key industry search terms.
Dramatically increased page views and bookings through website.

Wordpress Developer

2012

Amibug Group LLC

Worked with graphic designer to build customized wordpress sites for the 11 businesses operated by Amibug Group.
Launched 6 custom full content websites in 3 months.

Full Stack Developer

2006-2007

OPSGEAR

Designed and implemented a custom support ticket tracking system in PHP which dramatically increased CSR productivity and eliminated missed customer support emails.
Built and integrated a product review application using HTML, CSS and PHP that could be embedded into a 3rd party hosted e-commerce site increasing customer time on page and sales. Had to overcome limitations of the 3rd party platform which only allowed limited HTML and Javascript code in a product page template.
Converted mockups from graphic designer into full dynamic web sites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
